Born and raised in London Stephen entered the life insurance business at a young age in 1981 with Excelsior Life.  Focusing on hard work and determination enjoyed success early on becoming a top producer nationally for Excelsior which led to the brokerage arena.  With only two companies allowing to broker at the time Steve became part of a new breed of insurance agents which in turn benefited clients with quality products at a fair cost.

Evolving in the business Stephen took on specialty cases such as working with an association putting together a benefit plan in several provinces then turned to representing a handful of insurers to promote, market and contract agents to deliver product to the Southwestern Ontario region.

Earning a solid reputation in the industry the Canadian Bar Insurance Association came knocking to see if Steve would take on a position as an Authorized Representative for the legal community in the London and Windsor area in the fall of 1988.  Accepting the new position on a part time basis the under serviced region became a significant part of the Ontario in force insurance block of business for the CBIA.

Developing a foundation of trust with the insurer for the CBIA, Westbury Canadian Life, Stephen was approached in the summer of 1995 to take on a similar position as an Authorized Representative for the Canadian Council of Engineers now known as Engineers Canada which complimented the work with the lawyer’s program of servicing Southwestern Ontario.

With the growing number of clients over time Steve recruited, got licensed, trained and contracted wife Ann, daughter Laura and son-in-law Patrick.  Together, the team grew Wise Insurance into the Wise Financial Group Inc. and built the company to where it is today. 

Personally, Steve competed in the sport of volleyball for decades founding the London Volleys a successful league that hosted the first ever Ontario Co-ed Volleyball Tournament that consisted of four divisions and about 100 teams competing in a three-day tournament throughout the majority of high school and public facilities in London drawing teams from all over Ontario.  Recruited by the Ontario Volleyball Association, Steve put together coaching, player and refereeing clinics and negotiated gym time for the local OVA teams to practice and grow the sport in the London community.

Stephen, today, enjoys time with family helping raise three grandchildren.  Working out has become a habit and listening to music and playing drums a relaxing hobby.

Ann Wise was born and raised in London Ont.  Attending Arthur Ford Public School and Saunders Secondary School High School graduated in Business.  She was a Big Sister for three years and enjoyed spending time with two girls assigned to her. London has always been a great city, not to big and not too small but easy to get around.  It’s been a great city to run a family business, raise a family and grandchildren. Interests include playing volleyball, jewelry and a giant fan of Elvis Presley. Shopping and driving a Lexus are relaxing pass times. She was Vice President of London Volleys run by family members for 38 years and was active competing for decades. Many great friendships were made and some led to weddings from the London Volleys league that was founded by husband Steve. Ann is also Vice President of Wise Financial Group Inc. and was on the Board of Child Reach for two years.

Wise Financial Group Inc is a family Business which she is proud to say Steve Wise her husband started over 35 years ago. She is also very proud to be a CBIA Authorized Representative for the Canadian Bar Insurance Association since 1988. She has worked with many lawyer’s families staff over the years and enjoys advising personal clients for the company. In addition, Ann is an Authorized Representative of the Engineers Canada servicing and advising engineers in Southwestern, Ontario. Daughter Laura grew up in the insurance industry and joined the company working with Ann and Steve for the past 15 years. Son in-l aw Patrick, Laura’s husband then joined the Wise Financial Group working for the company the past 8 years. It truly is a family business.

The goal at Wise Financial is Wise Advice throughout your life. Offering honesty and the best advice possible is what all strive for when working with clients.  With the ever-changing needs clients have and limited budgets the goal is to protect clients and their families.

The next generation of Wise Financial Group Inc. may be in the hands of three beautiful grandchildren who bring smiles to all.

Patrick Haveman was born in Wingham, Ontario and has lots of experience working on farms in his younger years. He went to school at Western University and Fanshawe College prior to joining Wise Financial Group in 2007. He enjoys working with clients of all ages and walks of life. His primary areas of focus are: Group Benefits, Family and Estate Planning as well as Health, Dental and other important Living Benefits such as Disability, Critical Illness and Long Term Care.

Outside of the office he can be found enjoying the company of family and friends, volunteering at the nearby community pool, exploring the great outdoors or cracking open a good book.  Also, more recently trying to figure out the new video games that his teenage sons enjoy.
